Many of the MBI Al Jaber Foundation graduates are currently doing important work in the fields of education and governance all across the globe... be this in the areas of teaching, NGO work, policy implementation or other hugely important avenues.


Fatma is a young woman with a gift for languages, thanks to which she was awarded a scholarship and came to London to study Japanese at SOAS. She has now returned to Algeria and is working hard to enable young generations of Algerians to get to know the Japanese language and culture that she treasures so much.


Tamim started off his career with HSBC Bank. Zainab graduated in 2008 with a postgraduate degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of Westminster. Her reason for having chosen this topic is due to her believing that communication is about much more than language.


Since March 2011, Sharia has been working as a Mediator and Conflict Management Specialist at the Walker Consultancy. The consultancy offers mediation services between disputing parties and also conducts conflict management and resolution training.


Heba graduated from AUC in 2004 with a degree in Arabic Studies and is now carrying out postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley in the USA following gaining her PhD in Architecture from Cambridge University.


Following her time at LEAD, Rana worked as a Planning Advisor for the Minister of Higher Education and as Chief Executive Officer at Jordan’s Forum for Business and Professional Women until forming her own consultancy in 2007.


Before studying for a postgraduate degree in Middle East studies at AUC, Riman worked as a Liaison Officer for Municipal Alliance for Peace in the Middle East and contributed to the Palestine-Israel Journal.


Sophie graduated from SOAS in 2003 with an MSc in Development Studies. She believes that she and her fellow MBI Al Jaber Foundation Alumni were selected as ambassadors for their countries. After working for some time in higher education in Saudi Arabia, Sophie joined the British Council in Dubai and from 2007 - 2008 worked as a Project Manager for Schools and Social Partnerships.


Ahmed graduated in 2003 from LEAD with a Diploma in Development and has since been awarded a PhD in Architecture. He has been involved in the architectural design of many projects in Egypt, Sudan, Syria, KSA, Jordan, Iran and Ethiopia.


While studying for her MA in Near & Middle Eastern History at SOAS, Muzna planned to take up a teaching or academic position to advance Middle Eastern art, culture and history.
